Copperstone becomes Viscaria
On May 21, 2024, Copperstone Resources changed its name to Viscaria. All press releases dated before the name change have retained the name Copperstone Resources, while in later press releases the company is referred to as Viscaria.

Viscaria is scaling up to become a modern and responsible mining company through the reopening of the Viscaria mine in Kiruna. Viscaria’s goal is to become one of the world’s most sustainable copper producers.

Mining activities impacts the environment. Through water purification, modern mining technology, energy-efficient infrastructure, and habitat restoration, we at Viscaria aim to compensate for and restore the environment continuously during and after our operations.
93 million tonnes
When Viscaria mine was closed down in 1997, three million tonnes of copper-bearing rock had been mapped. Today, 25 years and hundreds of boreholes later, the figure stands at 93 million tonnes – and our exploration work continues.
