Copperstone’s environmental permit
application proclaimed

Copperstone Resources AB (publ) announces today that the Land and Environment Court (Mark- och miljödomstolen, MMD) at Umeå District Court has proclaimed the company’s application for an environmental permit for a reopening of the Viscaria mine in Kiruna. The proclamation means that MMD considers the application to be complete in order to be examined. The date for the main hearing has not been set.

“We look forward to the continued handling of the case at the Land and Environment Court and hope that the main hearing can be held around the turn of the year. That would enable a start of production at the Viscaria mine by the end of 2025,” said Henrik Ager, CEO of Copperstone.

Now, the so-called exchange of letters begins, when comments regarding the application and environmental impact assessment can be submitted to MMD, after which Copperstone is given the opportunity to respond. The time for the exchange of letters will run until August 2023.

Since Copperstone on 30 March 2022 submitted the application for an environmental permit, Copperstone has on three occasions made supplements to the application. Copperstone’s documents in the matter are published on the company’s website under the tab Tillståndsportalen https://copperstone.se/tillstandsportal/miljoansokan/
