Copperstone updates on the environmental permit application for the Viscaria mine

Copperstone Resources AB (publ) has received a request for supplementary information from the Land and Environment Court regarding the company’s application for an environmental permit for the reopening of the Viscaria mine in Kiruna. Copperstone estimates that the requested information can be completed within a short period of time, which should allow for quick processing by the court and a possible proclamation, an announcement that the application is complete, as soon as possible thereafter.

“The process is now moving forward, and we estimate that we can respond to the court’s request within a short period of time. The focus is on clarifying production conditions, logistics and how the safety focused Seveso legislation will be implemented. No additional field surveys or resource-intensive modelling are likely required to respond to the court’s request. The court has also informed us that it may request a couple of more supplementary information in the near future, for example regarding species protection. In summary, it is good that the authority has a new district court judge in place to drive the process forward", says Copperstone's CEO Henrik Ager in a comment.
